ISLAMABAD: In recent years, the Xbox 360 has gained significant popularity among gamers in Pakistan, particularly among children, teenagers, and even adults.

As gaming technology has advanced, many kids today are shifting away from the basic video games once enjoyed by the millennial generation, opting instead for more sophisticated options like the Xbox 360.

Despite being nearly 20 years old, one of the key attractions of the Xbox 360 is its superior graphics and immersive gaming experience. The console allows users to enjoy multiplayer games, whether playing alongside family members or connecting with players online. This feature has made it especially appealing in the age of online gaming.

The trend of console gaming in Pakistan has grown noticeably, with many shops now selling gaming consoles and accessories across the country.

Among the available options, the Xbox 360 is seen as a budget-friendly choice compared to newer models like the PlayStation 4 or the latest Xbox versions.

For example, a used Xbox 360 with a 250GB hard drive can be found for as low as Rs16,000, while refurbished models that look almost new may cost up to Rs28,000. Prices vary depending on the number of controllers included and other accessories.

In markets in cities like Lahore and Islamabad, “like-new” Xbox 360 editions are being sold at attractive prices. For instance, a freshly imported Xbox 360 with a 360GB Sandisk hard drive, J-Tagged, with one wireless controller and an HDMI cable, can be purchased for around Rs25,000.

In contrast, a PlayStation 4 Slim is being sold for Rs45,000 in the same markets, highlighting the considerable price difference between the two consoles.

For many Pakistani gamers, especially those who are not looking for cutting-edge graphics or the latest gaming experience, the Xbox 360 remains a solid choice.

Popular games such as FIFA, GTA 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and Need for Speed Blur are still widely played on Xbox 360, offering an affordable way to enjoy gaming.

According to online shopping platforms, the price of the Xbox One starts at over Rs60,000 and can go even higher. For instance, on a popular site, the Xbox One S 1TB in white is listed for Rs125,000.

This affordability and range of playable games make the Xbox 360 a go-to option for both casual gamers and families.
