WEB DESK: Xiaomi is preparing to roll out Android 16 to its devices, and while the company hasn’t officially confirmed its roadmap yet, early signs suggest it’s sticking to its usual playbook, pushing out new Android versions shortly after Google’s stable release. Google has confirmed Android 16 will go live in June 2025, and Xiaomi has already made beta builds available for select flagship phones, including the Xiaomi 15 and 14T Pro.
As in previous years, the company hasn’t published a definitive list of supported models, but based on its established update policy and past release timelines, several Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices are expected to receive Android 16. Flagship devices like the Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro, 15 Ultra, and 14 series, including the 14, 14 Pro, and 14 Ultra, are almost certain to get the update.
The same goes for recent T-series models like the 14T and 13T Pro, as well as the premium Civi line, including the Civi 5 Pro and Civi 4 Pro. On the tablet front, newer models in the Pad 7 and Pad 6 families are likely to be eligible.
Under the Redmi brand, the entire Note 14 and Note 13 series, including both 4G and 5G variants—are expected to be part of the rollout. High-end K-series models such as the K80, K70, and K60 lines, as well as budget phones like the Redmi 13, 14C, and A-series, are also anticipated to receive the update.
Poco users can expect similar treatment. Devices like the Poco F7 and F6 series, as well as mid-range offerings from the X and M lineups, including the X7 Pro and M6 Pro, are expected to qualify. Even entry-level models like the Poco C75 and C71 may be on the list.
Xiaomi has yet to announce when it will begin rolling out the stable version of Android 16. However, if previous timelines are any indication, the company is likely to start releasing it in late June or early July, just a few weeks after Google’s public launch.
When Android 15 launched in October 2024, Xiaomi began seeding updates to its phones by early November. Given that Android 16 is arriving earlier this year, Xiaomi may follow a similarly swift release cycle.
As always, the newest and most expensive models will be first in line. If you’re using a flagship like the Xiaomi 15 or 14T Pro, you can already try out the Android 16 beta. The broader public rollout is expected to follow soon.
