Cop booked for stealing 40 bikes from police station

LAHORE: A police constable has been booked for allegedly stealing around 40 motorcycles from a police station.

The motorcycles that were recovered by the police were stolen from outside the Defence C Police Station.

Constable Ilyas with the alleged connivance of scrap dealer Akram Kabari stole the motorcycles, which were recovered by the police from a scrap yard in Harbanspura.

Authorities have stated that appropriate legal action will be pursued against the accused.

Separately, during encounters across Karachi on Thursday, a total of five suspects were arrested.

According to sources, two individuals were wounded during a police encounter near Nagan Chowrangi.

The sources said that the injured accused escaped. During the encounter, the police personnel also got injured.

As per the sources, the injured police personnel, part of the Shaheen Force, sustained gunshot wounds to their legs.
