ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Zahir Shah, has tendered his resignation from the position, according to sources.

Reports indicate that Deputy Chairman NAB, Zahir Shah, has submitted his resignation to the Chairman of NAB.

NAB officials have confirmed the resignation of Deputy Chairman Zahir Shah.

This development marks the departure of the third senior officer from NAB, as earlier, Chairman of NAB, Aftab Sultan, and Prosecutor General Asghar Haider had also resigned from their respective positions.

Zahir Shah was appointed as NAB acting chairman after Aftab Sultan resigned from the post.

Zahir has worked as the bureau’s director general (operations) in the past and was subsequently appointed as its deputy chairman in October 2021.

He has been serving with NAB for almost two decades and has held key positions.
