ISLAMABAD: In a significant move against the agent mafia, the Islamabad police has launched a crackdown outside the Regional Passport Office in G-10 and the excise office.

The operation, led by Assistant Commissioner Shalimar, resulted in the arrest of nine agents involved in exploiting citizens.

According to the Islamabad administration, these agents were apprehended outside the passport office and subsequently transferred to Ramna Police Station.

The operation was carried out under the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, who emphasized the need to intensify actions against such elements outside all government offices, including NADRA, Passport, and Excise offices.

Memon stressed the importance of eliminating those who exploit citizens under the guise of commission fees, highlighting that these operations are crucial for protecting the public from fraudulent activities.

Additionally, a similar operation outside the Excise Office led to the arrest of several commission agents, who were later transferred to I-9 Police Station.

The arrested agents were reportedly charging fees in the name of various services, further compounding the exploitation of unsuspecting citizens.
