March 14, May 9 violence: fresh crackdown launched to arrest 4,082 suspects

LAHORE: In a renewed endeavor to ensure justice prevails for the occurrences of May 9 and March 14, Punjab law enforcement has launched an extensive crackdown.
As per official sources, an exhaustive roster encompassing 4,082 individuals, allegedly linked to these episodes, has been meticulously compiled, spanning various regions within Punjab.
Among these individuals, 1,082 are designated as suspects hailing from Lahore, according to reports.
On March 14, protests first broke out in Islamabad when police first decided to delay Khan’s arrest. Police and party workers clashed outside of his Zaman Park residence in Lahore, and also used gas and a water cannon on supporters nearby.

On May 9, following the arrest of the PTI party’s head, from the grounds of the Islamabad High Court, demonstrations held by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters descended into violent riots.
A meticulously crafted strategy has been devised to apprehend these suspects, integrating a fusion of targeted raids and state-of-the-art technological resources aimed at pinpointing and detaining them within their respective abodes.
Moreover, the ambit of legal repercussions extends beyond the direct perpetrators of the incidents. Those found to have offered support or assistance to the accused will also be held accountable within the bounds of the law.
To execute this operation with maximum efficacy, specialized teams have been assembled, each composed of four distinct units, all working cohesively to promptly apprehend the identified suspects.
