DI KHAN: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam – Fazl (JUI-F), emphasized on Tuesday that Pakistan belongs to no individual or group, asserting that his party had never accepted an illegitimate government in the past and would not do so in the future.
Speaking at a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various projects, Fazlur Rehman spoke about his amicable relationship with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif. He highlighted his party’s role in persistently protesting against the PTI government, leading to its eventual removal.
Fazlur Rehman pledged to restore and strengthen ties with friendly nations, expressing the desire for amicable relations with countries of all sizes. However, he firmly rejected any notion of a master-slave relationship.
Though not explicitly mentioning the PTI chairman, Fazlur Rehman accused them of sabotaging the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to prove their loyalty to outside forces. He reminded the audience that the ancestors of JUI-F’s leadership and workers had valiantly fought against British rulers, eventually forcing them to leave the subcontinent.
Fazlur Rehman stated that the nation must realize that those who obstruct the development process do not deserve to be in power again. He asserted that only the ruling alliance could ensure progress and prosperity for Pakistan. He also expressed gratitude to the prime minister for repeatedly visiting the region and restarting work on significant projects in the country.
