Member Provincial Assembly Senator Nisar Ahmad Khoro said that one should refrain from defaming the country to achieve their personal interests. He said Benazir Bhutto was not only a politician but a woman who showed the way to this country. There is a need to listen and bear. This is Benazir’s vision and the People’s Party is following it. “Martyr Ms. Benazir Bhutto faced countless problems and difficulties but did not leave the path of democracy. It is necessary that Benazir Bhutto’s It is the responsibility of all of us to highlight her achievements and make people aware of this. She was not only the greatest scholar of democracy, but also an enviable and responsible citizen, an excellent writer, a brilliant speaker and a member of civil society.”
He expressed these views while addressing a conference titled: “Reconciliation: Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto’s vision” at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium, University of Karachi.
Nisar Khoro added that the assemblies are formed for five years, but unfortunately, the assemblies of the people here are dissolved in two years, eighteen months and two and a half years, four assemblies were dissolved from 1988 to 1998 and this is to make the people of Pakistan angry. Only one language was given status in Pakistan, while more than one language was given status in India. Due to not giving status to more than one language in Pakistan, the gulf of East and West Pakistan was created and how much distance was created and how much understanding was lost. As a result of the Eighteenth Amendment, provincial autonomy and the provinces started getting their rights which were not possible without conciliation.
Provincial Minister of Universities and Board Z Muhammad Ali Malkani said that martyr Ms. Benazir Bhutto did not lose patience even in the most difficult of situations and called democracy the best revenge. She forgot all her sorrows and continued to apply ointment to the wounds of the nation, she continued to smile even after being stolen from the wounds. This style and thinking makes her unique, she proved with her character that she was not just a name but truly unique and will remain unique.
Muhammad Ali Malkani added that by the way, Pakistan People’s Party is seen as a resistance party because this party endured the persecution of all the dictators and continued to work for the restoration and strengthening of democracy while remaining steadfast. But history is a witness that when this country was in need, Pakistan People’s Party put aside all its personal sorrows and losses and talked about reconciliation. That understanding was not for personal interest but for national interest and the idea of dialogue, consultation and working together with political forces was adopted by Pakistan People’s Party from the beginning. Of course, Pakistan People’s Party as a party had to suffer many losses from this thinking, but it definitely helped to get the country out of crises.
Muhammad Ali Malkani said that he said that Asif Ali Zardari, even after all the death, unjustly imprisoned and losing his spouse, raised the slogan of “Pakistan Khape” while hatred raged in the whole country. This is the vision of our young chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that this country belongs to everyone and we all have a responsibility to solve its problems through reconciliation. Keeping your ego and personal interest at the top, you have to put the country’s interest first. Instead of getting confused, putting each other down and making accusations, we have to move forward, think of this country and its people.
Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Karachi Justice Retired Hasan Feroze said that I wish that the personality of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto should be investigated and people should do MPhil and PhD on her personality. She has struggled for democracy in Pakistan and the world and it is widely appreciated. Benazir Bhutto was a democratic minded leader, the reason for this was that she saw the politics of her father Zulfikar Ali Bhutto carefully.
Dean of College of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Karachi Professor Dr. Shaista Tabsum said that Benazir Bhutto was a great visionary leader who is an inspiring beacon for women not only in Pakistan but all over the world, she was a courageous and a brave woman.
Earlier, Director Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto Chair University of Karachi Muhammad Ibrahim Shaikh while delivering the welcome speech said that Shaheed Ms. Benazir Bhutto declared democracy as the solution to all the problems of Pakistan and democracy is incomplete without reconciliation. “Shaheed Bibi not only fought for democracy and made countless sacrifices, but also made efforts to solve the country’s problems by adopting reconciliation thinking,” he added.
