ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur gave the government a two-week ultimatum for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan as party’s jalsa culminated which also saw a brief clash between party workers and Islamabad.
Addressing a large rally at the Cattle Market in Sangjani, Islamabad, Gandapur, who reached the venue along with a convoy of supporters, said that if Imran Khan is not released legally within the deadline, “we will secure his release ourselves.”
The rally was attended by key PTI leaders, including Cahirman Barrister Gohar and Aleema Khan, the sister of Imran Khan and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai.
Addressing the crowd, Barrister Gohar condemned further legal actions against the PTI chief, urging the authorities to “find a way forward” before the nation reaches a breaking point.
Ali Amin Gandapur passionately declared, “The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa did not allow their mandate to be stolen.” He vowed to lead the movement himself, even at the cost of his own life to get their leader released. “If Imran Khan is not released in two weeks, I will be at the front, and I will be the first to take the bullet.”

Despite the Islamabad district administration’s NOC permitting the rally only until 7 pm, it continued late into the night.
Earlier, the situation escalated at Choongi No-26, where clashes erupted between PTI supporters and the police. Protesters threw stones, prompting the police to respond with tear gas. Several police officers, including SSP Safe City, were injured in the confrontation.
