Saboteurs will be dealt with iron hand: army chief


On March 24, coinciding with the 23rd of Ramazan, the mother of Army Chief General Asim Munir, Majida, passed away.

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir said on Thursday that saboteurs will be dealt with an iron hand.

Addressing the National Ulema Convention, COAS said that the greatest crime in the sight of Allah is spreading disturbance and rampage on earth. He added that if anyone attempts to create chaos in Pakistan, we will stand firmly against them.

The Army Chief stated that Pakistan has graciously hosted millions of Afghan refugees for over 40 years.

He also remarked that Kashmir remains an unfinished agenda from the Partition of the subcontinent.

The Army Chief while commenting on the atrocities being committed in Palestine, stated that witnessing such suffering causes his heart to weep blood.

He further added that the situation in Palestine teaches us the importance of self-reliance and the need to strengthen Pakistan. Observing the atrocities inflicted upon Palestine and Gaza evokes a profound sense of sorrow. He urged scholars to lead efforts to restore moderation within society.

The Army Chief stated that in the war against terrorism, our Pashtun brothers and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have made significant sacrifices, and we stand with them, acknowledging their efforts.

General Asim Munir also said that while we encourage people to protest if they feel the need, they should do so peacefully.
