Sindh government delays Zulfikar Bhutto’s death anniversary rally



KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to delay the rally marking the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in observance of Ramazan on Friday.

The rally will now take place on April 14 in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. The decision was announced by a spokesman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

The decision to reschedule the rally comes in the wake of the Sindh government’s announcement of a public holiday on April 4 to honour Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s death anniversary.

The gathering was initially scheduled for April 4 to mark the 45th death anniversary of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

The holiday on April 4 was announced throughout the province of Sindh. The PPP announced the holiday as a way for supporters of the former PM to commemorate his life and contributions to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is expected to address the public gathering in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on April 14.
