TTP commander Badshah Khan killed in Afghanistan

Badshah Khan

ISLAMABAD: Badshah Khan Mehsud, who was considered to be the right-hand man and close confidante of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan chief Mufti Noor Wali, was killed in the Paktika province of Afghanistan.

According to sources, Khan, who was involved in various acts of terrorism in Pakistan and targeting security forces, was killed when his vehicle hit a landmine in the Azbargai village of Paktika province.

Badshah Khan was also a close aide to former TTP deputy chief, Khan Said alias Commander Sajna, who was killed in a US drone strike in February 2018.

Khan had been listed among the most-wanted individuals for the Pakistani security forces. His role as a commander in orchestrating militant activities, particularly against Pakistan’s forces, had made him a key figure within the rank and file of the banned organisation.

This development marks a significant blow to the banned TTP as Pakistani security forces continue to exchange fires against intruders along Pak-Afghan border.
