Woman, son dead bodies recovered from well

KARACHI: The bodies of a woman and her son were discovered in a well within a residence in Karachi’s Nazimabad’s Mujahid Colony on Monday.

According to a police spokesperson, Shaista Bibi and her son Abdul Hadi were engaged in a home-based catering business and had been reported missing since September 19 by the daughter.

The police investigation revealed that Abdul Hadi had hired three individuals for his home catering business, who subsequently hatched a plan to rob the victims. After finding only 18,000 rupees in cash and a car, they allegedly killed the mother and son, disposing of their bodies in the well.

Law enforcement authorities have taken two of the alleged accomplices into custody, and the search for the third suspect is ongoing.

Police stated that the accused individuals were under suspicion for other activities, which had drawn the attention of law enforcement.

The investigation has unveiled that one of the employees of the victims, identified as Faisal, has reportedly confessed to committing the murders.

The bodies have been transferred for autopsies, and a comprehensive investigation has been initiated.
