40 Palestinians killed in day-long Israeli bombardment: Gaza

GAZA: At least 40 Palestinians perished due to a day-long bombardment primarily in the central and southern regions of Gaza by the Israeli military on Thursday.
The ongoing violence has led to significant displacement, with thousands of Palestinians forced to flee from Gaza’s Deir al-Balah area.

In addition to the Gaza attacks, three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the city of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank.
Meanwhile in the occupied Golan Heights, Hezbollah launched over 50 rockets at Israeli military positions.
A subsequent drone attack in Kiryat Shmona reportedly resulted in numerous Israeli casualties. In response, Israel conducted strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.
United States (US) President Joe Biden contacted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to advocate for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Israeli negotiators arrived in Cairo for renewed ceasefire talks, although Hamas did not participate in last week’s negotiations.

Israel introduced new conditions in the Cairo discussions, while Hamas is pushing for the acceptance of proposals made by President Biden in May.
