5.5 earthquake hits Japanese prefectures, 20 minutes after warning

MIYAZAKI/KAGOSHIMA: Early on Monday, 5.5 earthquake jolted parts of Japan.

According to reports from an international news agency, an emergency warning was sounded 20 minutes before the earthquake hit.

The Japanese government had issued an earthquake warning for the regions of Miyazaki and Kagoshima, for potential seismic activity exceeding a magnitude of 5.
