Accident claims life of Disneyland employee in golf cart


A Disney employee lost her life at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, state of California, United States (US) following an accident involving a moving golf cart.

ANAHEIM: A Disney employee lost her life at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, state of California, United States (US) following an accident involving a moving golf cart.

The incident occurred in the backstage area of the theme park when 60-year-old Bonnye Mavis Lear fell out of a moving golf cart and sustained a severe head injury. She ultimately lost her life from the injuries sustained. An investigation is currently underway.

While first aid givers rushed her to a local hospital, Lear succumbed to her injuries two days later.

The 60-year-old served as a valued employee at the Disneyland Resort for 24 years. She was known for her role in supporting membership services at Club 33, an exclusive private dining club located within the park’s New Orleans Square.

The Anaheim Police Department’s Traffic Detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. While details are still emerging, witnesses have described Lear as a passenger in the golf cart at the time of the incident.

According to reports, the cart hit a bump in the road, causing Lear to lose her grip on the handrail and fall from the vehicle.

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock expressed sadness over Lear’s passing and offered sincere condolences to her family and all those who knew and cared for her. The president talked about the company’s “commitment” to supporting Lear’s family and colleagues during this difficult time.
