China redraws border with India; annexes parts of Ladakh

BEIJING: China has annexed important parts of Ladakh, amidst escalating tensions with India.

According to a foreign news agency, China has announced the formation of two new counties by including some parts of Ladakh in Hotan Prefecture – Chinese city.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs also registered a protest against Beijing on Friday.

This is the first time that India and China have openly objected to the Himalayan border dispute. And China made this announcement a few days after resuming border talks after five years.

Defense experts say that the India-China border dispute can lead to tension in the region. They are also of the opinion that China never takes any step, unless it is confident of its ability to handle the decision or its consequences.

The experts said that now the difficulties will increase for India. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs’ outcry is actually a response to the setback to its dream of hegemony.

Defense experts also said that India has illegally occupied Kashmir, and now the same thing is happening to India at the hands of China.
