Diplomatic standoff: India suspends visa services for Canada

DELHI: Amidst diplomatic standoff between Canada and India over the death of a Sikh separatist in Canada, India has now suspended visa services for the Canadian nationals, including those of Indian origin.

Earlier today, it was reported that Sukhdool Singh aka Sukha Duneke has been killed in Winnipeg. The incident comes days after Canada accused India of murdering Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Nijjar was murdered on June 18th in British Columbia.

The diplomatic ties between Canada and India have been strained since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a public announcement saying that Canada has credible information of Indian involvement in Nijjar’s killing.
