Drone strikes building in Tel Aviv, 7 injured so far


A drone reportedly struck a building in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, resulting in several people injured in early hours of Friday.

TEL AVIV: A drone reportedly struck a building in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, with seven people injured so far, in early hours of Friday.

According to local media reports, the attack occurred near the United States (US) Embassy Branch Office. However, it is not yet clear if the branch office itself was the target.

An explosion was also reportedly heard, with plumes of white smoke seen in the area. The local law enforcement confirmed that explosives experts have been dispatched to investigate.

Early indications suggest that the drone may have evaded Israeli defense systems by entering the country from the sea.

As per local media, two people, have been transported to the hospital with shrapnel wounds. CCTV footage reportedly showed the moment a suspected drone struck a building.

Israeli security services are currently investigating whether the blast was the result of the drone strike in Tel Aviv. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
