WEB DESK: A young girl from Gaza, Renad Attallah has spoken out against false claims circulating online about how she managed to leave the besieged territory of Palestine. In a heartfelt message, she clarified that her departure was neither at the expense of others in need nor through financial means.
“For those who are doubting how I left Gaza, I want to say clearly: I did not take a sick person’s chance to leave, and I did not pay any money to anyone to get out,” she wrote on her Instagram story, depicting how she is being guilt tripped for surviving and making out of the war.

11-year-old Renad whose Instagram @RenadfromGaza has around 1.6m followers had left a cryptic ‘Goodbye’ message last week, before announcing that she had moved to Netherlands with her sister. She explained that her younger sister had received a scholarship to study in Europe, and under European law, siblings under the age of 18 in her care were eligible to join. This legal pathway, she stressed, was the only reason she was able to leave.
Her departure, however, came at a heavy personal cost. “I came out of a war, after two years of bombing, hunger, and exhaustion,” she said, describing the harrowing circumstances that forced her to separate from her family, who remain in Gaza amid ongoing conflict and deprivation.

Now, even in relative safety, Renad finds herself facing another struggle: the weight of public doubt and misinformation. “After everything I went through, I still have to face these false claims. That’s just not fair,” she added.
Renad’s account used to be about introducing the world to Palestinian cuisine as she would walk the audience through her recipes in Arabic. As the war gripped the region, she also documented the struggles to attain basic ingredients and would show how she made pasta, pizza, or just bread with za’tar using the bare minimum items.
Her message reflects the emotional toll carried by those displaced from war zones—not only the trauma of survival and separation but also the scrutiny that follows. For Renad, setting the record straight is not just about defending her personal choices, but also about reclaiming her dignity after enduring years of violence, scarcity, and uncertainty.
Israel rejects Hamas ceasefire offer, reiterates tough conditions
Meanwhile Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office dismissed Hamas’s announcement of readiness for a ceasefire, Al Jazeera reported. The statement said the war could end “immediately” if Hamas accepted Israeli cabinet conditions, including the release of all Israeli captives, the group’s disarmament, and the demilitarisation of Gaza.

It also demanded Israeli security control over the enclave and the formation of an alternative civil government. Reinforcing the stance, Israeli media reported Defence Minister Israel Katz’s warning that Hamas faces only “two options.” The rejection highlights Israel’s insistence on strict conditions for any ceasefire, despite Hamas signalling openness to negotiations. Israel has killed thousands of Palestinians with at least 19000 being children while consistently starving the population by banning entry of any aid whatsoever.
