Hamas leader reveals resumption of ceasefire talks with Israel

GAZA: Senior Hamas leader, Basim Naim, announced that ceasefire negotiations with Israel have resumed, with international parties mediating the discussions.
Despite the renewed dialogue, the Hamas leader indicated that no concrete proposals have been put forward as of yet.

The resumption of talks comes amid escalating violence in the region, raising concerns about the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israel continued its relentless assault and bombardment of the Gaza Strip, mercilessly slaughtering 48 Palestinians.
Over two hundred people were injured.
The occupying forces targeted the al-Mawasi safe zone, a designated area meant to provide refuge for civilians.
Over 45,000 innocent Palestinians have perished due to Israeli brutality, with over 15,000 children alone having lost their lives.
The ongoing invasion of Gaza Strip by the occupying forces has exacerbated the humanities crisis in the enclave, with access to essential services and medical care severely compromised.
The Israeli military have also forcibly evicted over 18,000 Palestinians from Beit Lahiam a region in the northern Gaza Strip.
The forced displacement adds to the growing number of Palestinians affected by the conflict, further straining the resources of humanitarian organisation working in the area.
The Israeli occupation of Palestine over the pretext of eliminating Hamas has entered its 14th month. The region has since experienced multiple confrontation, leading to widespread destruction and huge loss of life.
Israel has targeted hospitals and schools, brutally killing medics and even humanitarian workers, among other war crimes with impunity.
The international community has repeatedly called for a ceasefire and a return to negotiations aimed at achieving a last peace. However, efforts have been undermined by neither side relenting or proposing terms unacceptable to the other party.

The humanities situation in Gaza has been further complicated by the blockade imposed by Israel, which has restricted the flow of goods and services into the territory.
Human rights organisations have warned of mass starvation unless the lack of access to basic necessities, including clean water and healthcare is allowed.
Recently, the Amnesty International report also pointed out Israeli actions as amounting to genocide of the Palestinians.
