India aiding Israel in Gaza genocide by supplying weaponry

GAZA STRIP: Amid rising tensions in the Gaza Strip, the Indian cargo ship Marianne Danica, carrying 27 tons of explosive material, has been redirected to the port of Ashdod in Israel.

The cargo reportedly includes precision munitions and potentially dirty bombs, prompting accusations that India is contributing to the conflict in Rafah, where millions of Palestinians are living in open camps.

The ship’s route has raised concerns as it avoided the Red Sea, a region with active Houthi rebels in Yemen, opting for a longer journey through the Mediterranean Sea. This decision has sparked controversy and led to widespread criticism.

The cargo on the Marianne Danica is believed to be destined for use in the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Critics argue that India’s involvement in supplying arms to Israel exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in the region.

A post on social media by Open Secrets (@OpenSecrets7Ave) highlighted this issue, stating, “IN IL: Partners in Genocide. Indian Cargo Ship (Marianne Danica – registered Denmark) with 27 Tons of Lethal Ammunition / Explosives is on its way to Ashdod/Israel (from Chennai). Instead of shorter route via Red Sea, it took much longer route – Houthis!”

Spain refused to allow the Marianne Danica to dock earlier, with Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares citing a policy against facilitating arms shipments to Israel. This move reflects Spain’s stance on promoting peace in the Middle East rather than contributing to the conflict through arms sales.

India’s close relationship with Israel in the arms trade has come under scrutiny. Over the past decade, India has imported billions of dollars’ worth of military equipment from Israel. The collaboration includes joint ventures in drone manufacturing, with some drones allegedly used by Israel in the current offensive in Gaza.

The controversy surrounding the Marianne Danica coincides with another maritime dispute involving the Borkum, which is also scheduled to dock in Spain. While some claim the Borkum is carrying arms for Israel, Spanish authorities maintain that the cargo is intended for the Czech Republic.

Spain’s proactive stance against arms shipments to Israel aligns with its broader efforts to support Palestinian rights and seek recognition for a Palestinian state. The country has halted arms sales to Israel in response to previous military actions in Gaza and continues to advocate for diplomatic solutions to the conflict.
