WEB DESK: Indian actress Celina Jaitly addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Pakistan, passionately urging an end to the violence with a plea to ‘stop the guns.’

“The collective punishment of all Palestinian civilians and children for the actions of Hamas must be stopped,” wrote Celina Jaitly in a post on ‘X’.

“I am experiencing immense pain, grief anger and mental distress as each day unfolds in Palestine. I do not understand politics but as a devout Hindu, as a humanitarian, as a mother, as a woman my religion and my belief system do not permit me to stay silent at the horrific consequences upon #palestinian civilians and above all their children,” she added.

“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel has a “clear goal of destroying Hamas’s military and governing capabilities”, as well as freeing the hostages. However, all I see is the collective punishment of all Palestinians for the actions of Hamas,” the post added.

She further said that all she see is bodies of small children strewn over the Palestinian soil.

“While I deeply condemn the unprecedented assault on Israel from the Gaza Strip on 7 October, killing 1,200 people and taking about 240 hostages is the killing and maiming of all the children of #palastine the answer?”

“Winter is descending, millions are displaced there is fighting and shelling everywhere,” said the actress adding, ” There are only 3 hospitals which are now out of all resources. All aid channels were cut off. Where do the people go, with their casualties with their children, senior citizens? Even if they do find shelters in schools and at @UN shelters they are still bombed there on the pretext of aiding terrorists,” her post read further.

“An eye for an eye will leave the entire world blind. I urge the world leaders to come together. The guns MUST be silenced !!! Ultimately it “is” going to boil down to a dialogue, must it be had on the graves of all the children of #palestine?”
