Indian hospital owner arrested in fire incident case which killed six newborns

NEW DELHI: Police personnel arrested the owner of the baby care hospital, Naveen Khichi in New Delhi after he fled with Akash, the doctor in-charge responsible for the fire incident which killed six infants on Saturday (May 25) night.
State Chief Arvind Kejriwal ordered a magisterial investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire tragedy, local media reported on Sunday (May 26).
Fire kills six newborns at baby hospital in India’s capital
Anguished parents were seen taking back the bodies of their newborn children after they went through post-mortem formalities at a local mortuary in New Delhi.
The fire department said six more children were rescued and taken to a different hospital, with one on a ventilator. The fire occurred on the same day when 27 people were killed in a fire at an entertainment centre in the western state of Gujarat.
