Indian man kills wife for serving tea late

Wife

GWALIOR: A man in a village in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh strangled his wife to death on Tuesday after she took too long to make his morning tea, police said.

The incident took place in Thathipur village in Gwalior district, where Mohit Rajak, 27, had an argument with his wife Sadhna, 22, after she took long time to make his tea, police said.

After the argument, the husband beat her and choked her to death, police said.

The family members suspected foul play and alerted the police, who arrested Mohit and registered a case of murder against him.

“He confessed to the crime and said that he killed his wife for being late in serving tea. But we are probing the case from all angles,” Vishwavidyalaya police station in-charge Manish Dhakad told the Indian media.

Domestic violence is widespread in India, where women often face abuse and harassment from their husbands and in-laws over dowry, household chores, or other issues.
