It is all about Balkanization of Iran, not Iranian nuclear programme

TEL AVIV: It was the Iranian nuclear programme to begin with for the last three decades. Later, the idea of regime change was thrown into mix. But things have reached a stage where there is talk about partitioning Iran, a notion that The Jerusalem Post – an influential newspaper in Israel – has presented in detail in a recent editorial.
However, there are people who say that the idea has always been the Balkanization of Iran. It’s nuclear programme and the government were just an excuse.
In an editorial titled “Trump must help Israel finish the job to dismantle Khamenei’s regime, The Jerusalem Post has called for partitioning Iran.
To achieve the goal, the newspaper has interestingly suggested a Middle East coalition, which means the Israelis think that the Gulf States will join the “cause”, if US President Donald Trump embraces the idea.
IRAN ISN’T THE SOLE TARGET
“Forge a Middle East coalition for Iran’s partition. Encourage long-term plans for a federalized or partitioned Iran, recognizing that Khamenei’s theocratic regime cannot be reformed. Offer security guarantees to Sunni, Kurdish, and Balochi minority regions willing to break away.”
One cannot miss the fact here that Iran isn’t the sole target of Israel. The very mention of “Balochi” among the “minority regions” to break away also brings Pakistan into the equation.

The very suggestion also endorses Pakistan’s stance that foreign powers are supporting the terrorists groups in Balochistan. Given that India has been interfering in Balochistan, it also leads to a conclusion that there is an Israel-India nexus.
At the same time, supporting the Kurds will also involve Iraq, Turkiye and Syria. No doubt, Balkanization of Iran or the entire region is the ultimate goal in mind.
Meanwhile, The Jerusalem Post has missed the Azeri population in Iran. Perhaps the script provided to the it failed to mention them.
PLEADING TRUMP
The editorial starts as an appeal to Trump – the most powerful head of state in the world. Obviously, only the US can provide the brute force required for the project.
Meanwhile, The Jerusalem Post has shared a complete strategy for executing the plan. Partitioning Iran is the sixth and the last point. What are the five others that will lead to achieving the ultimate prize.
It says that “regime change” should embraced as a policy, followed by sharpening “economic warfare to knife-edge precision”.
Meanwhile, the Israeli newspaper is also advocating the case for “terrorism” by expanding “cyber offensives to disable IRGC command-and-control networks, disrupt missile guidance systems, and interfere with nuclear control software”.
To remove the main hurdle, the newspaper is also calling for designating the IRGC a foreign terrorist organisation and pursuing “its global networks relentlessly”
Lastly, the editorial is asking Trump to “project overwhelming military readiness”
“Surge US carrier strike groups into the Persian Gulf, pre-position Aegis destroyers in the Arabian Sea, and deploy long-range bombers to deter any Iranian reprisal.”
For those ready to accept the regime change in Iran like Iraq, Libya and Syria, The Jerusalem Post editorial must make them realise that Balkanization of Iran is the sole objective, the Iranian nuclear programme or government are only a pretext.
US DOMESTIC POLITICS
Although, the newspaper has provided a “complete roadmap” for destruction to Trump, it has ignored one thing: Trump base which is not ready to fight more wars.

Given that all the politics is local in nature, Trump cannot offend his own voters, as even the far-right elements are most vocal opponents of more US wars after over 20 years of its involvement.
