Kamila Harris files nomination papers for US presidential elections

WASHINGTON: Democrat leader Kamala Harris on Saturday officially declared her candidature for the US presidential elections by filing her nomination papers.
She further expressed confidence in her party’s ability to win.
In a post on X, the US vice president said, “Today, I signed the forms officially declaring my candidacy for President of the United States.”
“I will work hard to earn every vote. And in November, our people-powered campaign will win,” she added.
Biden will announce Supreme Court reform plans on Monday
Vice President Kamala Harris has secured the support of enough Democratic delegates to become her party’s nominee against Republican Donald Trump, according to an Associated Press survey, as top Democrats rallied to her in the aftermath of President Joe Biden’s decision to drop his bid for reelection.
Harris, in a statement, responded to the AP tally, saying she is “grateful to President Biden and everyone in the Democratic Party who has already put their faith in me, and I look forward to taking our case directly to the American people.”
US presidential elections are set to be held on November 5 , 2024
