Melania Trump’s new official portrait released

WASHINGTON DC: With US president Donald Trump harking orders from the White House, the US First Lady, Melania Trump decided to not come slow with her newly released official portrait. The black and white photo shows Melania dressed in a business suit and white shirt while her hands are resting firmly on a glass table in the Yellow Oval Room.

The Washington Monument is visible in the background as well, adding more weight to Melania’s return. As a former fashion mode, Melania knows how to handle critics along with her sartorial choices.

The portrait has been captured by Belgian photographer, Régine Mahaux who is known for taking photographs of Trump family for more than two decades. Mahaux also did the official portrait for Melania in 2017, for Trump’s first term in the office.

“I was really honoured to be chosen to shoot this official portrait for the second time,” Mahaux told the BBC on Monday. She added: “As an artist to work with such an inspiring woman is a great privilege. She is a perfectionist and is really involved in the creative process.”

According to the critics in the BBC piece, ‘she appears ready to wield more of the power that she seemed rather reluctant to embrace in her first stay at the White House. And yet, she has positioned herself firmly behind that ultra shiny table, keeping a bit of a boundary between herself and the viewer.’

The three words being used for her are a little ‘mysterious, enigmatic and inscrutable’.

Earlier last week at the inauguration, Melania’s outfit was discussed widely over the internet especially her hat, which many joked was a way to ensure that Trump stays at a safe distance from her. She wore black then too and can be seen opting for darker shades than the previous term.
