‘Milaf Cola’, first date-based soft drink introduced in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has introduced a revolutionary addition to the beverage industry with the launch of Milaf Cola, the world’s first soft drink made from dates.
The unveiling took place at the Riyadh Date Festival, an event dedicated to the country’s cherished fruit. Saudi Minister of Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadley and Thurath Al-Madina Company CEO Bander Al-Qahtani led the launch ceremony.
Milaf Cola blends the nutritional benefits of dates, known as a superfood, with the refreshing qualities of a soft drink. The innovative product provides a healthier alternative to traditional sodas, merging indulgence with nutrition.

The drink was developed by Thurath Al-Madina, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. It meets international food safety and quality standards, using locally sourced premium dates. Its production aligns with the country’s eco-friendly and sustainable goals, promoting local industries.
Attendees at the Riyadh Date Festival sampled the drink and lauded its unique taste and health-focused formula. Thurath Al-Madina plans to expand its product range, aiming to transform global perceptions of dates and establish a new category of nutritious soft drinks.
