GAZA STRIP: The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 35,386, the local health authorities said on Saturday.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli army killed 83 Palestinians and wounded 105 others, bringing the total death toll to staggering 35,386 and injuries to 79,366 since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out on October 7, 2023.

At least 28 people were killed in Israeli continuous raids in Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources updated on Saturday.

Kamal Odwan Hospital, the only operative hospital in northern Gaza, issued a statement saying that it received at least 28 bodies since Saturday morning, most of whom were children and women.

Palestinian security sources said that Israeli warplanes fired missiles at residential homes and a shelter center for displaced people in Jabalia camp for Palestinian refugees in Gaza.

The raids caused large explosions in the camp, which had been witnessing a military operation for several days, while ambulances and civil defense crews rushed to the sites of the attacks.

Dozens killed and wounded as Israeli forces thrust deeper in Gaza

The situation has deteriorated as the Israeli army continues its operations in the camp for seven days in a row, using aerial and artillery bombardment, according to local sources and eyewitnesses.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have killed more than 130 militants in targeted operations in eastern Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, according to a statement issued on Saturday.

As part of the operations, the Givati infantry brigade killed more than 80 militants in the area, and located dozens of rifles, grenades, and ammunition, according to the IDF statement.

Additionally, Givati’s reconnaissance unit uncovered significant underground tunnel infrastructure in the area, it said.

Simultaneously, the 401st armored brigade killed about 50 militants in raids on Hamas infrastructure and buildings from which gunfire was shot at IDF troops, and located dozens of tunnel shafts and many anti-aircraft guns.

Givati, one of the five infantry brigades of the IDF, is composed of three battalions, each made up of companies with designated functions.
