Palestinian PM blasts Israel for genocide at UNGA79

NEW YORK: Palestinian Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Mustafa delivered a passionate speech at the 79th United Nations (UN) General Assembly session, blasting Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians.
The Palestinian PM described the current humanitarian crisis and genocide in occupied Palestine by Israel in the region as catastrophic. He stated that Palestinians were enduring the darkest period in modern history.

The economist said that a year of invasion and brutality by Israel has resulted in unprecedented loss and suffering, leading to a catastrophe.
In his address, the Palestinian PM talked in detail about the dire conditions faced by the Palestinians in their occupied land. He state that the ongoing violence has led to huge casualties and displacement.
He called for immediate international intervention to address the humanitarian crisis and protect the rights of Palestinians.

Similarly, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the “Summit of the Future” at the UN. He demanded an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine and an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The Iranian president stated that global development and peace were contingent upon the cessation of Israeli occupation and the establishment of a ceasefire.
He condemned the ongoing violence and genocide, describing it as a merciless massacre of civilians. In particular, it targeted women and children
Pezeshkian asserted that no document or agreement could guarantee peace and development while genocide is being perpetuated and supported.

His comments reflect a growing concern among nations regarding the impact of Israeli invasion and the broader implications for Middle East’s stability.
Israel ramped up its attack in recent days, with it extending the bombardment from Gaza Strip and occupied-West Bank to neighbouring Lebanon.
Reports suggest that Israeli bombardment resulted in the deaths of over 500 Lebanon in just a week. Since October of the previous year, more than 41,000 Palestinians, including 15,000 children, have been killed by Israel.

While discussions unfolded in New York, the violence continued unabated in occupied Palestine by Israel. More than 24 Palestinians were killed and 60 injured in latest Israeli strikes in Gaza.
Among the casualties was a woman and her four children, who were martyred in Deir al Balah.
Israeli airstrikes also targeted Palestinian refugees in two schools.
