Positive role of the media cannot be denied, says Imam-e-Kaaba

RIYADH: Imam-e-Kaaba Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais has said that the positive role of the media in promoting moderation and ending misunderstandings cannot be denied.

On the second day of the Unity of Islam World Conference, held in Makkah, Imam-e-Kaaba Abdul Rahman Al-Sudis said that those who provoke conflict should be stopped so that they do not harm the Islamic brotherhood, a foreign news agency reported.

He said that the positive role of media to promote moderation and eliminate misconceptions cannot be denied.

It should be noted that a large number of scholars from all over the world were present in the international conference organized by the decree of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, while Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other scholars from Pakistan participated.

In his presidential address to the conference, the Secretary General of Kontakt Alam-e-Islami, Dr Muhammad Isa, said that he is grateful to the Saudi leadership who are striving for the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

He said that Islam teaches the practice of mutual brotherhood and unity. He added that Allah’s orders in the Holy Quran are to avoid division, and we should follow the command of Allah and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to avoid division. Unity should be promoted so that we can serve the religion of Islam in a better way, he said.
