Robert Kennedy Jr has withdrawn from the race to run for United States (US) president as an independent on Friday.

WASHINGTON: Robert Kennedy Jr has withdrawn from the race to run for United States (US) president as an independent on Friday.

Following his exit, Kennedy endorsed Republican candidate Donald Trump, citing concerns that his candidacy could inadvertently benefit Kamala Harris.

Kennedy initially sought the Democratic nomination against UN President Joe Biden. He surprised many by supporting Trump.

The endorsement gave Donald Trump a significant boost, while Kamala Harris indicated plans to appeal to Kennedy’s supporters.
