Taliban accuses US of violating Afghan airspace

KABUL: The Taliban’s spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid alleged that the United States violated Afghanistan’s airspace on Saturday.

Mujahid claimed that US military drones were seen patrolling and entering Afghan airspace from “neighbouring countries”.

According to TOLOnews, Mujahid stated that the aircraft “undoubtedly belonged” to the US military. He called on all parties involved to “recognise their responsibilities and stop the aggression”.
The spokesperson stated that the Taliban has consistently protested against the airspace violations and called on the US to address the issue seriously.

As per reports, witnesses reported observing drones over the provinces of Kandahar and Nimroz,.
The Taliban spokesperson also urged “neighbouring countries” to prevent US drones from using their airspace to infringe upon Afghan sovereignty, without naming any specific party.

The accusations by the Taliban against US drones come amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region, particularly between Pakistan and the Taliban in Afghanistan.
