The latest twist to the Trump-Musk saga comes soon after Reuters said Donald Trump’s aides scheduled a call between the US president and Elon Musk for Friday.
‘THE MAN WHO HAS LOST HIS MIND’
Meanwhile, AFP also reported about the denial.
“The president does not intend to speak to Musk today,” the White House official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
On the other hand, AFP also says that Trump phoned reporters at several US broadcast networks to insist that he was looking past the row.
He called Musk “the man who has lost his mind” in a call to ABC and told CBS he was “totally” focused on the presidency.
GETTING RID OF TESLA
On the other hand, the Wall Street General says Trump is considering selling or giving away the red Tesla that he purchased earlier this year.
The newspaper, which quoted a White House official, is talking about the vehicle which was bought as a photo-op at the White House aimed at promoting Musk’s business. Reason? Tesla’s sales has been dropping due to his support to the far-right views.
THE REPORTEDLY PLANNED CALL
Earlier, Reuters reported that Trump’s aides scheduled a call between the US president and Musk for Friday after a huge public spat that saw threats fly over government contracts and included the world’s richest man suggesting Trump should be impeached.
A White House official said the two men would speak on Friday. The official did not give a time for the call, which could ease the feuding after an extraordinary day of hostilities – largely conducted over social media – that marked a stark end to a close alliance.
Representatives for Musk’s Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the planned call, said the news agency.
