WASHINGTON: Donald Trump said on Thursday (September 19) that Israel will be “wiped off the face of the earth” if he does not win the 2024 presidential election and that the election is about “saving Israel”.

Former President Trump, the Republican nominee, made the comments at an event sponsored by the Israel-American Council titled “Fighting Anti-Semitism in America”.
Lamenting the fact that his support among Jewish Americans was only at 40 per cent, according to a poll he cited, Trump said that “the Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss”, if that remains the case.
Trump also blamed Democratic nominee and US Vice President Kamala Harris for what he called an “explosion” of anti-Semitism in recent years.

Trump also warned that the pro-Israel lobby was no longer as strong as it once had been, saying that 15 years ago, “if you said something about a Jewish person or something about Israel that was bad, you were out of politics”, but that is no longer the case.
