Trump vows to ‘make America great again’ after taking oath
WASHINGTON: Donald Trump hailed the dawn of a “golden age” for the United States as he was sworn in as the country’s 47th president on Monday.
During his inaugural address as the 47th president of the United States, he said, “The golden age of America begins right now. From this day forward our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world,” he said.
He declared that America’s “decline is over,” framing his return to power as a rejection of the “radical and corrupt” establishment he claimed defined Joe Biden’s presidency.
“My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy and indeed their freedom,” Trump said. “From this moment on, America’s decline is over.”
NATIONAL EMERGENCY AT SOUTHERN BORDER
He declared national emergency at Southern border emergency and announced to send troops to the border to stop “invasion of our country”.
DEPORTING MIGRANTS
The new-sworn in US president also said that he will deport ‘millions and millions’ of ‘criminal aliens’ from the US and dismantle the “criminal foreign gangs”. He announced to invoke Alien Enemies Act of 1978 to eliminate presence of foreign gangs.
WILL RECOGNIZE ‘ONLY TWO GENDERS’
Trump said that his government’s official policy would only recognize two genders, ending the current practice of providing a third gender option in some settings.
“I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life… As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female,” he said.
LOWERING CONSUMER COSTS
He announced his administration would declare a “national energy emergency” to significantly expand drilling in the world’s top oil and gas producer, signaling a sharp departure from Joe Biden’s climate-focused policies.
“The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices, and that is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will ‘Drill, baby, drill!'” Trump said during his inauguration speech.
‘TARIFF AND TAX FOREIGN COUNTRIES’
Trump also vowed to ‘tariff and tax foreign countries’.
WAS ‘SAVED BY GOD TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN’
Trump said he was “saved by God to make America great again.”
“I was saved by God for a reason,” he said during the speech at the US Capitol, referring to an assassination attempt against him on the campaign trail. “I was saved by God to make America great again.”
‘TAKING BACK’ PANAMA CANAL
The US President vowed that the United States would be “taking back” the Panama Canal, alleging that China had gained control of the waterway.
“We didn’t give it to China, we gave it to Panama. And we’re taking it back,” said Trump, who has previously not ruled out using military force against Panama.
WILL ‘PLANT THE STARS AND STRIPES’ ON MARS
Trump vowed that the world’s biggest economy would again see itself as “a growing nation” that expands its territory, adding that the country would plant its flag on Mars.
“We will pursue our manifest destiny into the stars, launching American astronauts to plant the Stars and Stripes on the planet Mars,” he said in his inauguration speech at the US Capitol in Washington.
