Two explosions heard in Iran’s Tabriz: local media

Tabriz

TABRIZ: Two explosions were heard on Tuesday in Iran’s northwestern city of Tabriz, local media reported as Iran and Israel trade fire for a fifth day.

“Two explosions occurred in Tabriz five minutes apart,” the Ham Mihan newspaper reported. “Thick smoke was seen around Tabriz Tuesday morning after the explosion,” Mehr news agency reported, publishing a video from the city, which lies more than 600 kilometres (375 miles) from Tehran and is home to a major air force base targeted by Israel in recent days.

Early in the day, similar explosions were heard over the Iranian capital, Tehran, too, the country’s state media reported, as the Israel-Iran conflicts enters its fifth day.

As per latest reports, three locations were hit by Israeli projectiles in Tehran.

Likewise, the Iranian state news agency IRNA has claimed that Israel’s “Iron Dome” missile defence system was hacked, allegedly causing Israeli missiles to strike their own territory in a wave of confusion and malfunction.

According to Iranian media, the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces launched a fresh round of attacks on Monday night, targeting Israeli-occupied areas with ballistic missiles and drones. The strikes reportedly continued into Tuesday, pushing millions of Israelis into bomb shelters for a fifth consecutive day.

Videos circulating on Iranian and regional platforms show missiles bypassing Israel’s famed Iron Dome defence system and hitting multiple targets.
