LONDON: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s proposed law that could criminalise homelessness led to an internal discord within the Conservative Party.

The proposed ‘Criminal Justice Bill’ led to disagreements within the Conservative Party. Several British lawmakers strongly opposed the bill by the Conservative PM. Many Conservatives raised objections, including fellow-Conservative parliamentarian Bob Blackman. Blackman argued that the bill could unfairly penalise individuals without shelter.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party has ramped up its election campaign, advocating for change ahead of the upcoming general election.

As per reports, experts predict significant gains for the Labour Party in upcoming general election in Britain.

The Conservative Party is facing internal strife that could affect Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Although there is currently less disagreement among party members, the upcoming local elections in May might bring back worries about Sunak’s leadership.

As per reports, experts suggest Labour could attain a landslide victory in the next general election, with surveys showing they have a significant lead over the Conservatives.

Besides the proposed ‘Criminal Justice Bill’, other issues facing the Conservative Party includes its handling of current migration issue.

The Labour Party has criticised the government for its handling of illegal migration to the UK, calling it “complete chaos”. The number of migrants coming into the country reached record highs, leading to demands for immediate action to tackle the root causes and strengthen border security.

Most importantly, economic issues persist across the UK, especially in Wales’s hospitality industry. Despite substantial investments, the challenges worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic are still slowing down efforts for the industry to recover.
