US leaders maintain support for Israel following Hezbollah leader’s assassination


Despite repeated war crimes, breach of a foreign nation’s sovereignty and assassination of Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, the United States’ leadership reiterated their support for the occupying force.

WASHINGTON: Despite repeated war crimes, breach of a foreign nation’s sovereignty and assassination of Hezbollah chief, Hassan Nasrallah, the United States’ leadership reiterated their support for the occupying force.

US Vice President and the Democratic Party’s nominee for the upcoming presidential election, Kamala Harris, reaffirmed her commitment to Israel’s ‘defense’. She stated that the US needed to ‘support’ Israel in the current circumstances.

Similarly, current Unite States president Joe Biden also backed Israel, despite it killing over 41,000 Palestinians since last year and over 800 people in less than a week in Lebanon.

Biden actually commented that Nasrallah’s death was a ‘form of justice’ for the loss of lives, including those from the US, Israel and Lebanon.

He did, however, call for a ceasefire in Lebanon to end the ongoing hostilities.

United States House Speaker Mike Johnson also enforced the military actions of Israel.

Meanwhile, former US president and current Republican Party’s nominee for upcoming US presidential elections, Donald Trump, did not comment on assassination of Hassan Nasrallah.

On the other hand, French Foreign Minister publicly opposed any ground operations by Israel, stating that diplomatic efforts were essential in achieving stability in the Middle East.

he French FM urged both, Hezbollah and Iran to ‘avoid’ actions that could ‘exacerbate’ the current hostilities. They also called for an immediate end of Israeli airstrikes into Lebanese territory.

Meanwhile, Israel kept up its brutal assault of Lebanon, leading to the deaths of 33 people on Sunday.

The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that 195 people sustained injuries during the relentless bombardment.
