US warns of potential major attack by Iran

WASHINGTON: White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby issued a warning on Monday, suggesting that a significant attack by Iran should be expected

The national security adviser stated that while Israel was capable of defending itself, the United States (US) was committed to supporting Israel in its “defense” efforts.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) vowed retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran by Israel.

As tensions in Middle East heat up, there are reports indicating that the US is considering a complete withdrawal of its military forces from Iraq.

The move would be a significant shift in US policy, particularly as Iraq enjoys close ties to Iran while maintaining a tense relationship with the US.

Meanwhile, Iranian media have reported that the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein is scheduled to visit the United States next week.
