According to reports, Kamala Harris prepared meticulously for the debate, almost spending the past week in Pittsburgh, US practicing with helpers. She is expected to bank on her background as a prosecutor to argue against the former reality media mogul.

She is reportedly going to aim her ammunition against Trump’s performance in his previous tenure as the US president. Harris would reportedly highlight the shortcomings of the Republic nominee’s presidency while downplaying Biden’s.

The most pressing issues Kamala is said to cover include illegal immigration and growing inflation in the United States, with the average US citizen feeling the pinch of higher cost of living.

Meanwhile, Trump reportedly chose an unorthodox approach to practice. He apparently has been conducting policy discussions with his advisers to analyse his Democratic opponent’s background and guess her potential counters against him.

Trump’s “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face” highlights his strategy to prepare for any inevitability, that is, an “unpredictable” debate.

The presidential debate is being hailed by the US media as even more important than the one between Biden and Trump. For Kamala, it offers a chance to prove herself to a wider audience, including a wide berth of Democrat voters still on the fence about the country’s first VP. Her poll ratings have also recently stagnated with Trump at least a per cent ahead of her in some of the most recent surveys.

Meanwhile, Trump sees this as an opportunity to link Harris to Biden’s policies, aiming to depict the current government as a failure,. Like Harris, he is expected to focus on some of hottest topics currently palguing US polities – immigration and economy.
