RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja lashed out at PTI Punjab Chief Organiser Alia Hamza. The rift continues over her social media post alluding that the party leadership ‘did not invite her’ at the protest event led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Talking to the media in Rawalpindi, Salman Akram Raja said that Aliya Hamza should not have given a statement at the Lahore meeting. He said that it led to an issue being created, based on stupidity and conspiracy. Whomever did not come to Lahore did so out of their own free will, and not because there was an issue of invitation, he added.

Raja also said that all the discussions were made in a “stupid manner”, and a good event was made controversial out of stupidity, which will not be tolerated. He also warned Aliya Hamza against making any such social media posts again. “Her job is not to tweet, it is to mobilize Punjab. She should do her job,” Raja said.

Salman Akram Raja said that the date given by the Imran Khan holds more significance over any 90 days plan. He also said that whoever has made a mistake should apologize.

Meanwhile, former information minister and ex-PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has also taken to X (formerly Twitter), and urged PTI members to “come together on a one-point agenda for Imran Khan’s release”. He mentioned several notable figures in PTI and said that “Those who joined the party after May 9 have hijacked the PTI. These people have traded the lives of Imran Khan and other leaders for positions.”

He warned that if the PTI leaders continue to remain silent, “the political status of PTI will be completely destroyed.”
