ISLAMAABD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a warning of heavy rain expected across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP) in the coming days.
Areas forecasted to receive rainfall include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Mansehra, Battagram, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Charssada, Kohat, and Hangu.

Parts of Punjab such as Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Mandi Bahauddin, and Gujarat are also expected to experience significant rain.
Residents in urban centres – Lahore, Gujranwala, Narowal, Hafizabad, Chiniot and Sialkot – will have to contend with possible flash floods.
The recent heavy showers have already caused severe flooding in regions like Chiniot, where several feet of water accumulated on roads and streets, submerging low-lying areas and disrupting daily life.
Thunderstorms were reported in Chakwal, Kallar Kahar, and Talagang.

The NDMA cautioned the public to remain vigilant as the heavy rains may lead to tree falling, power outages, and damage to weak structures.
Residents are urged to stay away from trees, billboards, and unstable constructions during storms and to avoid unnecessary travel.
