Bushra Bibi files bail petition ahead of possible arrest

Bushra Bibi

LAHORE: Bushra Bibi, the former first lady of Pakistan, has submitted a bail petition to the Lahore High Court in a preemptive move to evade potential arrest.

In her petition, Bushra Bibi asserts her status as the spouse of a former prime minister and alleges that her husband is a target of political victimization. She contends that several government agencies, including the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Punjab Police, have unjustly filed baseless cases against her.

Bushra Bibi argues that she is now facing political victimization following her husband’s legal troubles and emphasizes that prior to June 2022, no cases or inquiries were pending against her.

The petition seeks comprehensive information regarding all cases and inquiries initiated since June 2022 and lists the federal government, NAB, FIA, and other relevant parties as respondents in the case. Additionally, it requests an injunction against any potential arrest of Bushra Bibi until the necessary case details are provided.
