LAHORE: TikToker Minahil Malik has come under the radar as the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) continues its crackdown on YouTubers and social media influencers accused of promoting illegal online gambling and trading apps.
Reports say the TikToker recently posted a promotional video for the online earning platform kvs247, calling it a trusted gaming app. She also shared a promotional code offering rewards to players. However, the video has since been deleted following NCCIA’s action against gambling apps.
The platform promised users a “full-fledged gaming experience” where skills and time could earn real cash rewards. Quick registration, secure deposits, and instant withdrawals were highlighted as key features.
Meanwhile, the NCCIA has summoned four more well-known influencers, Mudassar Hassan, Muhammad Anas Ali, Iqra Kanwal of Sistrology, and Muhammad Husnain Shah, for allegedly promoting unauthorised gambling, forex, and trading apps. They have been directed to appear before NCCIA officials in Lahore tomorrow (Tuesday).
Iqra Kanwal faces charges of encouraging youth to use such apps, allegedly aiding in looting people’s hard-earned money. Local media reports say unregistered platforms, including World 777, used influencer marketing to lure young users toward unsafe investments.
Ducky Bhai’s remand extended for four more days in gambling apps case
This development follows the arrest of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, known as Ducky Bhai, on charges of promoting gambling apps like Binomo and 1xBet. Investigators are also probing money-laundering links tied to these platforms.
NCCIA, now empowered under anti-money laundering laws, has warned that strict action will be taken against anyone promoting illegal online gambling or investment schemes. Analysts estimate billions of rupees flow overseas monthly through such apps, creating a shadow economy harming Pakistan’s financial system.
