BELGIUM: Several European airports stopped using automated check‑in and boarding operations after a cyberattack disrupted the systems of Collins Aerospace on Friday night.
Airports in Brussels, Berlin, and London’s Heathrow were among those affected, leading to cancellations and lengthy delays for many passengers.
At Brussels Airport, about 9‑10 flights were cancelled, and around 15 flights were delayed by an hour or more.
Collins Aerospace confirmed the disruption was related to its MUSE software, used in electronic check‑in and baggage drop at select airports. “The impact is limited to electronic check‑in and baggage drop and can be mitigated by manual operations,” the company said.
Passengers were urged to check with airlines before travelling, as all automated check‑in systems were down. Airports reported long queues and delays.
