LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is expected to announce the Test squad in the coming week, sources said.
The ongoing skills and fitness camp for red-ball cricketers in Lahore will conclude today, while a training camp for the selected Test players is scheduled to begin on September 29, sources added.
Only those under consideration for the upcoming Test series against touring team will be invited to the camp.
However, major changes to the squad are unlikely, as Pakistan recently drew their Test series against the West Indies.
The touring South African team will return home on October 7, with the first Test scheduled to begin on October 12. The second Test will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium starting October 20. Meanwhile, preparations for spin-friendly pitches are already underway.
South Africa Women’s cricket team clinched the ODI series against Pakistan, winning the three-match series 2-1.
In July, PCB had released the calendar for the 2025-26 women’s cricket season. The schedule included bilateral series, World Cup events, youth tours, and domestic competitions.
The national women’s team began the season with a tour of Ireland in August 2025, where they played three T20 Internationals, with their ODI matches against South Africa began from September 16 to 22.
The ICC Women’s World Cup will take place from September 30 to November 2. Pakistan’s matches will be held in Sri Lanka.
