Terrorists eliminated in Dalbandin, Bajaur

ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed seven Indian-sponsored terrorists in separate operations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sources said on Wednesday, as the government is determined to root out terrorism from Pakistan.

In Dalbandin, the security forces targeted a group of Fitna al-Hindustan, killing six of them after observing their movement through aerial assets, the sources said, adding that they were using a cave as their hideout.

Fitna al-Hindustan is the term used for BLA and other outlawed terrorist outfits that mainly operate in Balochistan while using Afghanistan as a base to carry out terrorism acts in Pakistan.

In the ongoing operation against Fitna al-Khawarij [the term used to described TTP and other terrorist groups], security forces destroyed the hideouts and tunnels they used in the Shahi Tangi area of Bajaur, the sources said.

It was an intelligence-based operation, the sources said, the security forces targeted the Khawarij hiding in a cave, which triggered a firefight.

As a result, one of these terrorists were killed while his several associates managed to escape after being injured, the sources added.

Shahi Tangi is located an elevation of approximately 1,000-1,500 meters above sea level with the surrounding hills rising sharply to over 2,000-3,000 meters, creating narrow gorges like Shahi Tangi, which act as natural passes.

That’s why the area is named Shahi Tangi where Tangi stands for gorge.

Meanwhile, the security forces during the process also cleared other tunnels and nearby areas as they seized arms, ammunition and communication equipment left behind the fleeing Khawarij.
