18 new dengue cases reported in Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD: In the past 24 hours, an additional eighteen cases of dengue fever have been confirmed in Rawalpindi, bringing the total number of patients afflicted with the disease to 438.

Health department sources report that out of these new cases, six patients are receiving treatment at Holy Family Hospital, two at DHQ Hospital, and two others are under care at Benazir Hospital.

Tragically, the condition of nine individuals affected by dengue in Rawalpindi is described as critical.

In response to the rising dengue threat, authorities have taken stringent measures. So far, 53 cases have been registered, and eight buildings have been sealed for violating dengue standard operating procedures (SOP).

Additionally, in Rawalpindi, 16 challan tickets have been issued, resulting in fines totaling 43,500 rupees, according to district administration reports.

The situation remains concerning as a total of 2,596 cases have been registered, and 510 buildings have been sealed in Rawalpindi. Furthermore, authorities have issued 787 challan tickets, imposing fines exceeding 43 lakh rupees to date.

According to health officials’ dengue cases were being reported across the district while the health authority along with allied departments was making efforts to control the spread of the lethal disease.
